Perspectives for a sustainable data centre industry by 2030

eco, bitkom, and the GDA have jointly published a position paper for a sustainable data centre industry by 2030. In light of a looming energy crisis, the three associations call for data centres, regardless of their size, to be recognised as critical IT infrastructure and prioritised accordingly in the event of supply shortages. They also argue that CO₂-free waste heat from data centres must be more extensively integrated into local and district heating networks than it has been before.
